Dr. Oceana Rames is an Arizona- licensed naturopathic physician in practice in the Mesa area of Phoenix. Oceana is a graduate of the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon; a BS in civil engineering from University of Maryland; a Massage Therapy certificate from the National Holistic Institute in Emeryville, California; and a Kripalu Yoga teacher. This eclectic background has provided an extensive and helpful base of knowledge and experience which she takes into her practice.

Naturopathic medicine is a distinct method of primary health care - an art, science, philosophy, and practice of diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of illness.
Naturopathic physicians (NDs) work with their patients to prevent and treat chronic and acute illness, restore health, and establish optimal fitness by supporting the patient's inherent self-healing process. This is accomplished through education and the rational use of natural therapeutics such as clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, homeopathic medicine, physical medicine, and counseling.
Naturopathic medical schools are four-year, graduate-level medical schools. Students study naturopathic principles and therapeutics, concomitant with two years of basic sciences and two years of medical sciences and 1500 hours of supervised clinical practice.
Dr. Oceana has studied and practiced massage since before becoming a naturopathic physician. Oceana loves massage for the benefits it brings to her patients: relaxation, stress relief, pain relief, correction of imbalances in the muscle tissue, and connection. Oceana has been trained in many modalities, and has an approach to massage that has integrated much of that training. Tailored to the patients problems and needs, Oceana will do deep tissue or light massage, specific work such as frozen shoulder or hip arthritis, whole body relaxation massage, always incorporating the work from her Cranio-sacral and Reiki training.
Appointments are for 60 or 90 minutes, and can be in Oceana's office or at your home.
Certifying medical marijuana patients since 2012, Dr. Oceana has a HIPAA-compliant, safe, and secure application process.

Medical marijuana cards are good for two years and currently cost $150 (SNAP recipients are charged $75). Dr. Oceana charges $100 ($110 if paying with a credit card) for the service. The state estimates that the savings for a medical marijuana consumer is 25% compared to a recreational marijuana consumer.
